Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

The short version

  • We use your email and property address to build and deliver your report.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure our site and ads. You can opt out.
  • Email privacy@hometaxreview.com to see, correct or delete your data.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Email address (required to deliver a report)
  • Name (optional; used on your hearing script)
  • Phone number (optional)
  • The property address or property ID you search for

When you buy, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment but never your full card number.

Public property records

To build a report we retrieve public records from the county appraisal district for the property you enter and for nearby comparable properties: appraised values, property characteristics such as size, age and lot, and, as the district publishes it, the owner name. We store the report we build so your private link keeps working. We use these records only to produce and support reports, not to market to the owners of comparable properties.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data, such as pages visited and features used
  • Device and connection information, such as browser type and IP address
  • Cookie and pixel data described in section 4

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Generate and deliver your property tax report
  • Deliver pre-ordered kits when your county releases new values
  • Send your report link and messages about your purchase
  • Send protest-deadline reminders and occasional updates, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
  • Measure and improve the Service and our advertising
  • Prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations

3. Email and Unsubscribing

Some emails are transactional: order confirmations, pre-order delivery and messages about a report you requested. We send these as long as you have an open order or report with us. Other emails, such as deadline reminders and updates, include an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe we add your address to a suppression list so we don't email you those messages again; we keep that list so the opt-out keeps working. We also stop emailing addresses that bounce or mark our messages as spam.

4. Cookies, Pixels and Advertising

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential. Sign-in cookies for agent and admin accounts, and short-lived browser storage that remembers your progress in the checkout flow. The Service doesn't work properly without these.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site, using cookies and your IP address. We also set our own cookie, htr_attr (kept up to 90 days), that records which campaign, ad click or shared link brought you to the site, so we can tell which of our marketing works. It holds no name, email or address.
  • Advertising. The Meta Pixel tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when you view pages, search for a property or start or complete a purchase, so we can measure our ads and show them to people likely to find the Service useful. It uses Meta's cookies (_fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from a Meta ad). We also send sign-up and purchase events to Meta directly from our servers (Meta's Conversions API); when we do, your email is hashed (converted to a code) before it is sent, along with those cookie values and your browser's IP address and user agent.

We don't load these analytics and advertising tools inside the branded tools that real estate agents embed on their own websites.

We honor Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends it, or you opt out below, we don't load the Meta Pixel and don't send your information to Meta from our servers.

Your choices:

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With real estate agents, when you use their tool. If your report was generated through an agent's branded tool, we share your contact information and report with that agent.
  • With service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting and AI gateway), Google (analytics and the AI model that drafts report text from property data), Meta (advertising measurement), and mapping and geocoding services that receive the property address to locate it on a map.
  • For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

6. Data Security and Retention

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Report links are private but not password-protected: anyone with your link can view that report, so share it only with people you trust.

We keep reports so you can return to them in later years, and we keep order and payment records as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete your reports and contact details at any time.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Get a copy of your information
  • Opt out of marketing emails and targeted advertising

Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and residents of other states may have similar rights. To exercise any of them, email privacy@hometaxreview.com. We respond within 45 days and won't treat you differently for using your rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the date above.
